EYEING the fight, Steve Holland hopes to see a rather different banner doing the rounds in the Gresty Road End.
The Alex manager remains adamant he can win those disgruntled fans over by masterminding a revival.
‘Holland Out’ reappeared when Sam Baldock gave MK Dons a 15th-minute lead but was the protest sign was back under wraps when Crewe fought back to lead 2-1 at half-time.
However two vital points were lost when Nick Chadwick struck with 12 minutes to go last Saturday.
Holland stated his intentions.
“I am the manager and we’re not getting good results,” he said.
“The manager has to take what comes.
“My intention is to work hard as I can so that one day there is a flag in there which says ‘Well done Steve’ on it.
“I didn’t enjoy it but I didn’t think it was out of order in any shape or form, I don’t expect them to be happy with how the team is doing.
“I am doing my best and my players are doing their best.
“I wasn’t an abusive demonstration and it didn’t affect the team too much, I thought we were close to what would have been a very important three points.”
He feels they need that all important break.
"They're telling me it was off-side but I'd need to see it again," he added.
"They're the breaks which aren't really running for us at the moment.
"I thought they didn't particularly look like scoring and, in the end, it's taken a deflection to wrong-foot Steve at the near post.
"We have to take it on the chin a little bit at the moment and hopefully that break will come soon."
And he was pleased with how the players responded to going behind early on.
“The character of the players was good as when they scored first it looked like it could be a difficult afternoon,” he continued “We had some good chances and it should have been all over by half-time.
”The players are gaining in maturity all the time, there are some young lads out there who are having a real good go.
“It’s going to be a challenging week.
“It would have been nice going to Yeovil on he back of a win.
“Three points would have really been a boost and I thought we deserved it.”
